The following policy and procedures have been established as required by the Higher Education Act (HEA) which was revised effective July 1, 2011. All undergraduate and graduate students applying for Title IV (federal) and institutional financial aid must meet the following standards regardless of whether they previously received financial aid.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n\n

Undergraduate Policy<\/div>\n

Students are required to meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards to be eligible for all<\/u> federal and institutional financial aid (grants, scholarships, loans (parent PLUS included), and work-study). SAP standards include both a qualitative (grade point average) and a quantitative component\u00a0(earn 67% of total cumulative attempted credits). The qualitative standard also requires that all students must have an academic standing consistent with the requirements for graduation at the conclusion of their second year of study. SAP standards are reviewed by the Financial Aid Office at the conclusion of every spring semester. Please be aware that even if you take only one credit in any semester, that semester will be tested during the SAP review after Spring.<\/strong>\u00a0Contact the Financial Aid Office with any questions. The policy is outlined below.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Qualitative\u00a0Standard<\/h4>\n

To maintain SAP, students must achieve a minimum cumulative grade point average appropriate to progress toward their degree, and they must complete coursework at a regular and sustained pace. Minimum cumulative GPAs are as follows:<\/p>\n

Quantitative Standard – Maximum Time Frame and Pace<\/h4>\n

Students must complete\u00a0their degree within 150% of the published length of the academic program. As a result, students enrolled in a degree program requiring 120 earned credits must earn a minimum of 67% of their total cumulative attempted credits by the end of each spring semester. Please note \u2013 students earning credits at the minimum allowable standard of 67% will take 6 years to graduate.<\/em><\/p>\n

Bachelor\u2019s Degree<\/span> \u2013 120 credits required to graduate. To remain eligible for financial aid, a student must earn their degree by the time attempting<\/u> 180 credits (120 x 150% = 180)<\/p>\n
