Recognizing Community Impact<\/div>\n
\n

The Student Affairs Department recognizes those who have <\/span>demonstrated<\/span> a commitment to serving their community and proven leadership in their contributions towards social change. Students who meet the following criteria are presented with the Community Impact Award and receive graduation regalia to reflect their accomplishments.<\/span><\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n\n

LVC Service Awards<\/h2>\n

Note:\u202fService hours must be entered through the <\/span>GivePulse<\/span> system\u202f<\/span><\/span>by the first week in April<\/span><\/span>\u202fof the student’s graduating year OR have hours approved by Student Affairs if they will be performed outside of this submission deadline <\/span>in order to<\/span> be considered for a service award.<\/span><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n\n \n \n

Honored to graduating seniors based on number of hours completed throughout a student\u2019s LVC academic career.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

    \n
  • Bronze Level: <\/span><\/i><\/b>Participants who complete at least <\/span>25 hours of service<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Silver Level: <\/span><\/i><\/b>Participants who complete at least <\/span>60 hours of service<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Gold Level: <\/span><\/i><\/b>Participants who complete at least <\/span>100 hours of service AND attend a service trip<\/span>, <\/span>OR participants who complete at least <\/span>250 hours of service<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n \n
    \n \n Annual Award for Excellence in Service<\/span>\n\n \n \n \n \n<\/svg>\n <\/button>\n \n
    \n

    Presented to those students who complete at least\u202f<\/span><\/span>100 hours<\/span> of service<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u202fto the community over the course of\u202f<\/span><\/span>one academic year<\/span><\/span><\/span>.<\/span> Students are eligible for this award every year <\/span>that<\/span> they are enrolled at the College.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n \n

    \n \n The Graduation Award for Excellence in Service<\/span>\n\n \n \n \n \n<\/svg>\n <\/button>\n \n

    Presented to\u202fthose graduating seniors who have completed at least\u202f<\/span><\/span>300 hours<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u202fof service to the community throughout their time as an <\/span>LVC<\/span> student.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n \n

    \n \n The Dutchmen Community Engagement Award<\/span>\n\n \n \n \n \n<\/svg>\n <\/button>\n \n
    \n

    Presented to those graduating seniors who have completed at least\u202f<\/span><\/span>500 hours<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u202fof service to the community throughout their time as an <\/span>LVC<\/span> student.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n \n

    \n \n The Dutchmen Outstanding Service Award<\/span>\n\n \n \n \n \n<\/svg>\n <\/button>\n \n
    \n

    Presented to the graduating senior who has completed the\u202f<\/span><\/span>highest number of hours<\/span><\/span><\/span>\u202fin service to the community.\u202f <\/span>The recipient of this award will receive a monetary award made to the <\/span>charity<\/span> their choice.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/section>\n\n\n\n

    Phi Alpha Epsilon Induction: Service Honor Society<\/div>\n
    \n

    Phi Alpha Epsilon (the Greek initial letters of the words, \u201clover of learning and finder of truth\u201d), the College\u2019s honor society, was established in 1935 and recognizes undergraduate\u202f<\/span>academic achievement and service to others<\/span><\/b>. Inductees are formally welcomed into the society at a spring banquet.<\/span><\/p>\n

    To be eligible for this award, students must:<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

      \n
    • Achieve a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.600,\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
    • Complete at least 45 credits of coursework at LVC, and\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
