To connect your device(s) to the \u201cLVC Wireless\u201d network, please first create your unique wireless key:<\/strong><\/p>\n

    \n
  1. Using a device with a web browser (Computer, Phone, Tablet), connect to the \u201cLVC Wi-Fi Registration\u201d <\/strong>network in your device’s network settings.<\/li>\n
  2. The network registration page should automatically pop-up in a new browser window; If it doesn’t, open a web browser and navigate to registerme.lvc.edu<\/strong>.<\/li>\n
  3. Once on the registration page, review and check the box to agree to the “Terms and Conditions” and then click “Agree.”<\/li>\n
  4. Select “LVC User”.<\/li>\n
  5. Enter your LVC Username and Password, then click “Continue”.<\/li>\n
  6. Your assigned wireless key (unique to you) will now be displayed. This key can be used to connect your other devices to the network. Retain this key somewhere safe. Close the window.<\/li>\n
  7. Return to your device\u2019s network settings and follow the directions below.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Complete your connection to the \u201cLVC Wireless\u201d network:<\/strong><\/p>\n

      \n
    1. Connect the device to the \u201cLVC Wireless\u201d <\/strong>network in your device\u2019s network settings.<\/li>\n
    2. Use your wireless key to log in.<\/li>\n
    3. If you lose or forget your wireless key, connect to the \u201cLVC Wi-Fi Registration\u201d<\/strong> network again, and go through the registration steps above to receive a new one.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

      Recent device updates cause most wi-fi problems.<\/p>\n

      Please see the instructions below on how to turn off private addressing*.\u202fContrary to some rumors, LVC is not trying to steal your data by asking you to turn off private addressing [debunked]! Private addressing causes your device to be de-registered from LVC\u2019s network.<\/p>\n

      Once you\u2019ve turned off private addressing, you may need to re-register your device (instructions above).<\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n\n\n

      1. Open the Settings app, then tap Wi-Fi.<\/li>\n
      2. If you aren’t currently connected to the network, tap Edit in the upper-right corner of the screen.<\/li>\n
      3. Tap the More Info button next to the network name (LVC Wireless).<\/li>\n
      4. Configure the setting:\n
          \n
        1. If using iOS 18, iPadOS 18, visionOS 2, or later, tap Private Wi-Fi Address, then tap Off, Fixed, or Rotating.\u00a0Learn more about these settings<\/a>.<\/li>\n
        2. If using an earlier OS, turn Private Wi-Fi Address off.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n \n

          1. Choose Apple menu > System Settings, then click Wi-Fi in the sidebar.<\/li>\n
          2. Click the Details button or More Info button next to the network name (LVC Wireless).<\/li>\n
          3. From the menu next to Private Wi-Fi Address, choose Off, Fixed, or Rotating.\u00a0Learn more about these settings<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n \n \n

            These instructions may vary as Android varies per device manufacturer.<\/p>\n

            1. Open the\u00a0Settings\u00a0<\/b>app.<\/li>\n
            2. Go to\u00a0“Network & Internet”<\/b>\u00a0or\u00a0“Connection”<\/b>, then choose\u00a0“Wi-Fi”<\/b>\u00a0to access Wi-Fi settings.<\/li>\n
            3. Tap the gear icon associated with LVC Wireless. If there is no gear, just tap the network name.<\/li>\n
            4. Most common places to find Private Address setting within this pop-up:\n

              2. MAC Address Type > Phone MAC<\/b><\/li>\n

                  1. Select the Start button, then select\u00a0Settings \u00a0> Network & Internet > Wi-Fi \u00a0> Manage known networks<\/b>.<\/li>\n
                  2. Choose LVC Wireless, then select\u00a0Properties<\/b>\u00a0and choose the setting you want under\u00a0Use random hardware addresses<\/b>\u00a0for this network.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n\n <\/section>\n\n\n\n

                    *Private Addressing (or Randomized MAC) is a security setting that periodically changes your device’s MAC address to avoid being tracked across a public network. This is a great feature when using a public network that is not trusted, like at a coffee shop, sports event, or convention; however, when you are on a trusted network like LVC wireless, where users must register their devices, using the MAC address, this is not necessary and causes more frustration. Because the device’s MAC address constantly changes, the device slips in and out of registration, affecting your ability to access the network.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n <\/div>\n <\/section>\n\n\n\n
